I'm looking for a skilled and creative video editor to collaborate with me on my YouTube channel. This is a full-time, salaried position that requires working in person in Los Angeles. However, I am open to a one-to-three-month paid trial for candidates outside of LA before they relocate.
About the Role:
I love editing and want to continue being involved in the process, but I need an editing partner who can take on about 80% of the work once trained. My ideal editor is someone who can take raw footage, review it thoroughly, create selects, and assemble a solid rough draft that captures the creative vision and tone of my channel. From there, I'll step in to fine-tune things like pacing, jokes, music, and storytelling.
This isn't just a technical editing role—I want to work with someone who understands my style, can match my creative voice, and is eager to collaborate. I need someone who can bring fresh ideas to the table while also being open to feedback and direction.
Responsibilities:
Review all footage and create selects.
Assemble a strong rough cut for each video.
Emulate my creative voice and editing style to maintain consistency.
Incorporate my feedback and fine-tune edits based on our discussions.
Work closely with me in person in Los Angeles once the trial period is complete.
Maintain a structured workflow to ensure efficient turnaround times.
Assist in organizing and managing video assets for future use.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (non-negotiable, as I only use Premiere Pro).
Strong storytelling and pacing instincts.
Experience editing long-form content (10+ minute YouTube videos, documentaries, or similar formats)—not just short-form content
Ability to match my editing style while bringing creative ideas to enhance the videos.
A strong work ethic—someone who enjoys the grind but also knows how to balance workload.
Open to feedback and excited about collaboration.
Must be based in Los Angeles (or willing to relocate after a trial period).
Trial Period & Next Steps:
This is a full-time, salaried position based in Los Angeles. However, I understand that relocation is a big commitment, so I'm open to trialing editors who don’t currently live in LA for one to three months as a paid test period to see if we work well together. If it's a great fit, I’d like to transition to working in person in Los Angeles.
If you're interested, send me a message with examples of your work, a bit about your background, and why you think you'd be a great fit. Looking forward to finding the right person to help take these videos to the next level!
